La cita de dijous  té per títol “Quan el mar ens fa esternudar”, i consisteix en l’explicació per part de la biòloga i oceanògrafa Magda Vila Reig,  de l’Institut de Ciències el Mar, de l’estudi de les proliferacions d’algals bentòniques amb repercussions sobre la salut púbica. En aquesta ocasió serà a l’Escola del Mar, a les 19h.

 THE BLUE FLAG IS FLYING IN BADALONA’S PORT

The ADEAC and FEE has granted to Badalona's Port the environmental award of Blue Flag for the third consecutive year. The fourth edition of the Maratest of Badalona has been a participatory success, 3,500 participants have walked the streets of Badalona Port and the whole city on Sunday morning to enjoy a career with a great festive atmosphere. The winners of the race 30 kilometers were Oscar Rodriguez and Degitu Jebesa, while the fastest race, held over a distance of 15km, were Juan Manuel Álvarez and Aitana Fernández.

Another year Club Rem Badalona has been present in the preseason trawlers regatta organized by Hondarribia Arraun Elkartea. For the second time participated both male and female senior teams. Twenty trawlers have met in Hondarribia Beach, where also the ACT league races are held.

The Club Joventut Badalona and Marina Badalona have concluded a partnership agreement to promote the city and one of the most important axes, the Port of Badalona. One of the first initiatives will be the ride that will take place with all the players and coaching staff of FIATC Joventut with sailboat mythical "Quetx" -Ciutat Badalona this Wednesday morning. Mayor and President of Marina Badalona Badalona, ​​Xavier Garcia Albiol, Manager of Marina Badalona, ​​Imanol Sanz, and the President of the Club Joventut Badalona, ​​Jordi Villacampa also will be there.

This weekend we celebrated the XX Campionat de Catalunya de  Llagüt on the beach of Cambrils, organized by the club Vent d'Estrop Vogadors de Cambrils and with the participation of the three rowing clubs who train at the Port Badalona: el Club Rem Badalona, el Club Natació Badalona y el Club Nàutic Bétulo. All teams have done an excellent performance in the championship, highlighting women's Club Rem Badalona senior who won the championship.

Over forty children participated Sunday 21^st September in the III Campionat Infantil de Pesca de Corcheo-Mar “Boia” held at Captaincy dock. The competition, organized by the Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar, was a success and the competition has become an unmissable event of the Port. The aim of Badamar, the main promoter of fishing in Badalona, ​​is promoting among children the sportive fishing with this tournament and other events organized during the season.

Badalona’s Port will held on Sunday 21^st of September, the III Campeonato Infantil de Pesca de Cocheo-Mar  "Boya", organized by the Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar and collaboration with Marina Badalona and Badalona City Council. This is a meeting to launch the kids the fishing world with the goal that everyone will get to learn the techniques of this practice and have fun with the sport. The contest is open to all children under 16 years and this year there will be 2 new categories: up to 10 years and 11 to 16 years. In addition, all participants will have special prices for lunch in the restaurants El Petit Port and El Teiatru.

On Saturday September 13 will be held at the Port of Badalona the I Trobada Velers Tradicionals de Badalona where emblematic sailboats meet: Far Barcelona, ​​Sant Ramón and of course the boat of the city, Ciutat de Badalona.

From eleven o'clock until two, people walking along the promenade will see all the sailboats browsing on the coast. On the afternoon everyone can approach at the Captaincy doc to see the boats. You can visit some of them and enjoy nautical workshops for all ages.

Last May, the ADEAC and FEE has granted to Badalona's Port the environmental award of Blue Flag for the second year and now the new flag is flying. The Port has obtained the badge Blue Flag, award of world recognition, because it fulfills a few standards of good environmental practices, environmental information, legality and good maintenance of the facilities and topics of Security.

The Port of Badalona will host on Friday a concert of havaneres and esbart framed on the second edition of Les Nits al Port de Badalona and the Festa Major del Front Marítim. The local group Blau Mediterrà will be responsible for havaneres whereas Esbart Sant Jordi, member of the Orfeo Badaloní, will give a demonstration of popular catalan dance. In addition, to complete the night will be served rum during the break.

Last Sunday Interclub fishing competition was held between the Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar and AEPM Sant Feliu in Puerto of Marina Badalona. A total of 38 athletes were divided into 10 boats in a high-level sports day. The host club was victorious after obtaining 3,750 kg on average per fisherman. At the individual level the first place went Arqué Quim (7,805 kg), followed by David Rojas (7,350 kg) and third Santi Iglesias (6,060 kg) all of them from Badamar. In total, between the two clubs, 140kg of fish were caught and were given to the Associació Social Amics del Gorg-Mar de Badalona by the Food Bank, in collaboration with the Volunteer of the city.

Sunday 29th of June will be held the Interclubs competition between Badamar and San Feliu de Guíxols organized by the Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar. At 7:30h all participants has to arrive to raffle the boats who must be anchored at the stone of the Garraf during the competition. Once the competition will be finish and, Badamar will delivered the fish to the Voluntaris de Badalona to give it to Banc d’Aliments of the city.

The summer begins and from Badalona's Port and for second year we thrown the campaign “Parks and Beach”. The promotion consist of the only price of 4 Euros to park a vehicle from 8:00h until 20:00h for citizens could take advantage of the proximity of our parking to Badalona’s beaches. From 29^th of May until 1^st of June, Badalona’s Port will held the II Nautical Fair Port of Badalona and the II Festival of the Sea. In this second edition, we have consolidated the professional offer and the social and sport offer, programming multiple activities for all ages, including talks and debates, baptism at sea, Flyboard demonstrations, trips with the ketch City Badalona and visits vintage and unique boats. In addition, the weekend will be inflatables for children, workshops of sailor knots, visits the fish market and gastronomic days at the restaurants of the port.

The Association of Environmental Education and of the Consumer and the Foundation for the Environmental Education has granted to Badalona's Port the environmental award of Blue Flag for the second year. The Port has obtained the badge Blue Flag, award of world recognition, because it fulfills a few standards of good environmental practices, environmental information, legality and good maintenance of the facilities and topics of Security. The information and environmental education, through the Ketch Ciutat de Badalona, the work with the schools and the fishermen’s confraternity, are the main arguments which have been awarded this valuable distinction at Badalona’s Port.

 The beach of the Cristall - Barca Maria and the beaches of the new section of the Maritime walk, between the Port and Martí Pujol's avenue and the School of the Mar have been recognized with the Blue flag too.

For the second year Marina Badalona has joined the initiative 22 Nights 22 Ports, the users can enjoy an overnight stay at 22 different ports of Catalonia. The Unió Gimnàstica i Esportiva de Badalona, with the  collaboration of  the City Council of Badalona and Marina Badalona, organize next April 27th, The V of Badalona, in the Port of Badalona. On April 9th at 19:00h will take place the talk S.O.S. the Sea! Come back pirates! framed within the Festival Medieval de Badalona. The talk, by Francesc Lleal, merchant marine captain, professor of the Faculty of Marine and writer, will be held at the Escola del Mar de Badalona and will be free.

On 5 and 6 April the Pirate Party will be held at the Port of Badalona, framed within the Medieval Feast of San Jordi. Throughout the weekend you will enjoy all kinds of activities, workshops and shows in the Port and in the Front Marítim. On Saturday at 7pm will be held the most famous show, the Naval Battle starring by Ciutat de Badalona, Atyla and San Ramón, followed by the conquest of the port and launch light comets. Throughout the weekend will be a  Jaima in the Port entrance where tea and pastries will be served, and the restaurants of the Port will offer menus and pirate animation. Also you will find Exhibition of Photographs of Medieval Festival which will be open from 4 to 13 April in the Classroom Activities.

Friday 4th of April from 19:30 to 21:00h Club Pesca Badamar organizes a workshop production of low fishing in the Classroom Activities at Port of Badalona. In addition, on April 6th will held a social fishing competition with anchored boat, registration begins at 7:00 am and competition at 8:00 am. Sunday March 23th will be held the 3rd edition of the race BDN Running L’Aliança Memorial Luis Condon, a street race with a flat 10km circuit that passes through the most emblematic places of the city of Badalona, as the Port, Las Ramblas or la plaza Pompeu Fabra. It is expected an influx of 3,000 people of all ages who want to have fun running through the city streets. The starting and finishing point of the race will be at la Rambla del Gorg, in front of the Palau Municipal d’Esports. The kick off will be at 9:30am and after passing the bridge San Lucas participants arrived at the port where the traffic Badalona be closed from 9:30 to 10:00pm approximately.

On 22 and 23 March will be held the VI TRAVESSA OF EQUINOCCI - TROFEU Balsamar organized by the Club de Vela Badalona and collaboration with Marina Badalona, ​​and Club Nàutic d’Arenys de Mar. The race, held in waters of Barcelonès and Maresme depart from the Port of Badalona and arrival at Club Nàutic d’Arenys de Mar and the next day will be the way backwards.

The race is designed for cruiser class ships,  grouped in three groups of classification for the first exit and reverse ráting for the second. Pre-registrations can be made online until Monday March 17th at 8 pm. The registered boats will have a free mooring on Friday at Port of Badalona, ​​who give it for free for boats that do not have it as a base port and Saturday at the Club Nàutic d’Arenys de Mar.

When the Sea passion is what joins a group of friends, then anything is possible. This profect is la "Travessia Catalunya Nedant" TCN. It is available for everybody. On Thursday March 13th at 19:00 will be screened in the Classroom activities of the Port of Badalona the documentary Beyond 360°, showing the experiences that Anna Corbella and Dee Caffari lived for more than 102 days of sailing in the Barcelona World Race. Aboard the GAES Centros Auditivos, both finished the race in sixth place, becoming the first female crew to sail around the world nonstop or assistance.

The screening will feature the protagonist of the documentary Anna Corbella and Gerard Martin, co-racer for the next edition of the Barcelona World Race. They will participate aboard Gaes Centros Auditivos, the same ship on which Corbella filmed the documentary Beyond 360º, faced violent tropical storms and became the first Spanish woman to circumnavigate the world sailing two nonstop or assistance.

The first Social Anchored Boat competition of the season organised by the Badamar Sports Fishing Club is being held on Sunday, 12 February.

Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar, starts the 2014 season with the first social competition of Sea-Bream. Captain meeting will be at 07:30 am. At 08:30 will start the competition.

Badalona's Port received last December 28th. the Second Edition of the Barcelona Paddle Race organized by Club Nàutic Bétulo, Marina Badalona and Barcelona Caiac. The champion was Jordi Borràs from Club Costa Daurada. The valuation of the organizers has been very positive on having seen the great reception that it has had between the public and the members of the world of the piragüismo.

 On Sunday, the 27th of October, a parade went out at ten o’clock of the Club Nàutic Betulo, spending for the Club Natació Badalona and the Club of Rem Badalona headed by the group of percussion Kapaoltis until Badalona's Port coming. The craft of Badalona's Port, the ketch Ciutat BADALONA, has returned this Saturday, the 12th of October, to them 12.00h, to his port base, after having taken part in both stages of the Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta 2013 (TSR), the appointment of the big traditional sailboats that departed from Barcelona on September 24. Our ketch, the Ciutat Badalona, has done a great paper in this international festival, with a third classification inside his group, the  B class, in the stage Barcelona towards Toulon's French port (from September 14 to September 27) and a fourth place in Toulon's stage to the Italian port of The Spezia (from September 30 to October 4). In the general classification, the ketch, led, respectively for Juanjo Navarro and Jordi García in both ditches and for Marcel Mongay in the distance of return, has stayed in the place number 10 of 31 participants of more than twelfth one of flags. Next weekend, Saturday, the 5th and Sunday, the 6th of October, the Club of Sports Fishing Badamar celebrates the contest of curri wood nearest to the bark of the season. The final classification of this competition will be the sum obtained in both sleeves. The first one, Saturday, begins the 7.00 of the morning in the Center of Marina Badalona's Nautical Activities, in the Soft North. The cost of the inscription is 5 Euros for fisherman. To 8.00 the crafts will be able to go out of the port and the contest will give itself initiated. In this modality, the place of fishing is free.  The Ciudad Badalona, the classic ketch of the city, takes part in the Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta that will depart from Port Vell next September 24. It is a question of a ditch of international character with two characteristics that they distinguish it: that the crew is integrated by young people (from 15 to 25 years, in the majority students of the Col.legi Badalonès) and that treats itself about a vessel with classic crafts that they are governed from the technology of the traditional navigation. The ditch has two stages: Barcelona up to Toulon's French port and from Toulon up to the Italian port  of The Spezia. Thirty crafts that take part in this festival of the sea were coming to Port Vell from September 21 and they will be able to be visited until on the 24th in the morning, which they will divide towards his first destination. We summon you on Saturday, the 21st at 9.30 hours of the morning to know to the crews and to dismiss the Ciutat Badalona towards Port Vell.  On Friday, the 19th of July, and on Saturday, the 20th of July, from 22.00 hours, the square of the Wharf of Captaincy of Badalona's Port will receive the festival that initiates the project of Them Nits to the Port. It is a question of a festival constructed in nights in two cultural differentiated offers. On Friday night it is reserved to the opera and the classic dance.  The quetx Ciutat Badalona it goes toward Minorca to takes part at the 25th Meeting of Classic Crafts Fornells 2013.  El diumenge 7 de juliol el recinte del Port acull la celebració d'una triatló del circuit SERTRI, organitzat per la Cadena Ser i la Federació Espanyola de Triatló. Aquesta cita, en la que hi participen més de 800 persones, comporta algunes afectacions en els serveis del Port. L'estacionament en l'aparcament del Moll de Capitania està prohibit, així com amarrar en el Moll de Cortesia. Com a conseqüència de la prova de natació, l'ús de la rampa pública està anul.lada i de la marina seca també quedaran afectats. De manera que recomanem que l'aparcament de referència per aquest diumenge sigui l'aparcament central del Moll Nord (el que dóna servei als establiments de restauració). A partir de les 15.00 hores, l'entrada del Port es pot fer només des de l'accés Nord (Badalona Centre) i la sortida per l'accés Sud (direcció Sant Adrià de Besòs i Barcelona). El carril de circulació que es manté per a la circulació rodada és el carril muntanya en sentit Sant Adrià de Besòs. És per això que reiterem que la millor opció per aparcar i no quedar immobilitzar en cap moment és estacionar en l'aparcament central del Moll Nord. Durant el període central de les competicions (de 16.00h a 21.00h) és important atendre les indicacions de l'organització.

On Sunday, the 26th of May the Club of Sports Fishing Badamar and the Associació Esportiva of Fishing of Guíxols's Sant Feliu they celebrated the Championship Interclubs of Fishing in Craft Anchored in waters badaloneses. A total of 35 sportsmen of both entities shared interest for 4 hours to capture a total of 73 quilos of fish that they delivered, once weighed, to the Food bank of the city with the collaboration of the Volunteers of Badalona. The test developed in a special way since in every craft there were fishermen of Badalona and of Guíxols's Sant Feliu, in a day of fishing competition but overcoat of brotherhood between both clubs . The winner to individual level was Jaume Dasquens with 8,450 kilos of fish, contributing to the victory of those of Sant Feliu. The final food in Badalona's Port concluded a round day that is foreseen to repeat on July 7 in waters of Girona.

 On Sunday, the 26th of May in the early morning a dozen of crafts of the Club of Fishing Sportive Badamar will be done to the sea to compete in the first contest of anchored craft Interclub between the entity hostess and the Societal of Fishing of Guíxolts's Sant Feliu.  The parking of Badalona's Port will be free the night of Saturday, the 4th of May from them 20.00h up to them 3.00h of the morning to facilitate the mobility in the I Badalona Shopping Night.  Starting this summer, the boat Punta Europa II, a catamaran belonging to the Barcelona sea route company Navaltours, is to include Badalona Port among its stops for setting down and picking up passengers. While the details of this tourist route are being finalised, the catamaran – a boat with three bows and capacity for 150 passengers – has scheduled two seagoing tourist trips to Badalona to coincide with the May Festival. The first is on Saturday, 4 May, with the Badalona Shopping Night, an open evening for shops in the city centre that runs until midnight, with activities at the port until 3 in the morning. The second idea is for it to form part of the Flota del Dimoni (Devil’s Fleet) to see the traditional burning of the devil and musical firework display from a new perspective: the sea. Tickets for these events can be purchased directly on the company’s website and at authorised establishments such as the RACC travel agency in Badalona.

On Sunday 28 April 2013, the waters in from of the Barcelona Port harbour wall will host the first regatta included in the Catalan llagut league, also serving as a preparatory race for the Catalan and Spanish Mediterranean llaüt championships. It is organised in four lanes, 350 metres long. This sporting event, organised by the Badalona Rowing Club, the Badalona Swimming Club and the Betulo Sailing Club, has the cooperation of Marina Badalona. The first classes will begin competition at about 9.30am and the races will continue uninterruptedly until the different cadet and veteran classes (2 lengths totalling 700m) and senior and juvenile classes (4 lengths totalling 1,400 metres) are completed.  The best place to follow the competition is the port breakwater.

On Sunday, Badalona Sailing Club is holding the 11th race in its social league for cruisers.  And the organisation is offering the chance to take part in the races, even if you don’t have a boat, through its crew exchange. If you want to find out about this chance to take a closer look at sailing, contact the organisation via its website cvbadalona.org. The skippers’ meeting is at 11 am and the competition starts an hour later. The members of the exchange also have to turn up at about 11am at the Badalona Marina Water Sports Centre on Moll Nord to be distributed among the boats. Don’t come along without first finding out about the requirements.

Badalona is to host the second Maratest – a 30-kilometre race bringing together competition and training depending on the needs of each participant – and the main settings will be the sea front and the Port. The race will be run over a very flat asphalt circuit and will be ideal for athletes preparing for the Barcelona Marathon, which is being held just three weeks afterwards. For those who are beginning long-distance running there is a shorter, 15-kilometre version, the only one at this distance in the Barcelona metropolitan area. It is ideal for regular 10-kilometre runners who want to step up. Last year’s race was over the same course and 2,300 athletes eventually took part. This time there will be more than 3,200 people. The bulk of the runners are expected to reach the port at about 9.08am on the first lap and approximately 10.40 on the second, heading towards 30 kilometres. There will be partial road closures, although the southerly direction towards Sant Adrià de Besòs and Barcelona will always be open.

The first Social Anchored Boat competition of the season organised by the Badamar Sports Fishing Club is being held on Sunday, 24 February. The site for the competition will be the area called 'Garraf' and boats must be fully anchored. Any participant not in the zone or not meeting one of the normal competition rules will be disqualified by the club’s federation delegate. As a new feature of the competition, there will be two categories in all social competitions this season: Class A and Class B. In the first season, in order to have the groups balanced with the same number of teams in the two classes it was decided that, in principle, the top five teams from the previous season would make up the first class.  The Class A teams will be: Joangi, Lucky II, Avi Pep, Speed III and Papillón. The other teams will be in Class B. At the end of the season, the bottom team in group A will be relegated into group B and the top team in group B will joint group A. Concerning Sunday’s programme, registration will be at 7am at CPE Badamar’s headquarters at Badalona Port.  The competition will begin in the zone indicted at 8am. At 12 noon the fishing delegate will announce the end of the competition and each skipper will notify all its participants that they are no longer fishing.  1.30pm is the deadline for all catches to be in the weighing area on the Moll de Ribera esplanade. Any crews turning up late for weighing will be considered to be out of the competition. Remember that all catches will be scrutinised to ensure they reach the minimum size. The total weight caught will be divided by the number of fishermen making up the team. Just after this will be the traditional snack at the CPE Badamar’s headquarters on Moll Nord.

The Badamar Fishing Club opened its 2013 sporting season on Sunday, holding the Pandora Competition, with 11 boats and 40 anglers taking part, quite a success at a time of year when there are always problems with the weather and sea conditions.After being postponed the week before, the contest was held normally, although there was a strong wind early in the morning which made fishing a little difficult.However, the final weighing showed some fairly good catches.The winner was the “Joangi”, with a total of 7.830kg (3 fishermen - 2.610kg). Second position went to “Lucky II” with 5.080kg (3 fishermen – 1.695kg) and the anglers from “Speed III” completed the podium in third position (3 fishermen – 1.290kg.).As it was a competition for a single species, only the pandora, a fish highly valued both by fishermen and in cooking, was weighed.The next event will be the 1st Anchored Boat Social Competition on 24 February.

The members of the Badamar Sport Fishing Club are holding their ordinary general meeting on Friday, 18 January at 7pm, basically to prepare the new season. The meeting will be held at Marina Badalona’s Nautical Activity Centre, which is being transferred to the Moll Nord to expand the space set aside for use by organisations and clubs based at the Port. The proposed calendar fixes Sunday, 10 January, as the first activity of 2013, when the social competitions for pandora and green razorfish using the troll line technique will be maintained. An experimental children’s competition with buoy has been scheduled for the first week in September. All catches made during the competitions are given to the Badalona Food Bank via the Badalona Volunteers.

“Cuentos Xinos” (Tall Tales) is the suggestion for Thursday 17 January on the programme at El Teiatru, a new establishment in the bar and restaurant area on Moll Nord at Badalona Port. It is an after-work club with afternoon-evening-nighttime opening hours on working days (6.30pm to 2pm) which adds the central hours of daylight at weekends and on public holidays (from 10.30am to 3pm and from 6.30pm to 2am). El Teiatru’s main contribution is a programme of shows ranging from stand-up comedy and storytelling to tastings, samplings and small-format concerts. The event on Thursday 17 January is provided by the company El Somriure Bàrbar – a show based on ancient and modern stories from all over the place, improvised and from memory, with five actors who will remind us of the art of smiling. For Friday and Saturday nights, the recommendation is to go for one of the venue’s specialities: its cocktails, and, specifically, the gin and tonics.

The Mediterranean Association of Traditional Fishermen has called all its professionals working on a small scale to an assembly on 12 January 2013 to deal with different current issues in the sector, including the new developments in a decree from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment dated 28 December 2012, renewing some aspects connected with the activity, such as the characteristics of the techniques used and the number of catches per person. The Badalona association will act as host in a venue lent by Marina Badalona, as the Badalona facilities are a Base for Traditional Fishing.

 Shareholders and members of the General Meeting of this company are called to the Ordinary and Extraordinary Meeting that will take place either at the first attempt, on 19 December this year at 6.30pm on the premises of BCIN, Polígon Les Guixeres s/n. in this city or, at the second attempt, on 20 December, at the same time and in the same place. The first two points on the agenda consist of recording the appointment of the new secretary and the agreement of the board of directors to extend the concession for the hotel, convention and shopping centre and car park. La comunidad educativa del CEIP Progrés ha organizado una actividad en el marco de La Marató de TV3 que  se celebra el próximo domingo 16 de diciembre con el objetivo de recaudad fondos para la investigación contra el cáncer. Concretamente, se trata de un paseo desde el Puente del Petróleo hasta el paseo del dique de abrigo del Puerto, espacio en el que recogerán pétados de papel con flores hechas de origami (unas 200 flores realizadas previamente en talleres en la escuela para elaborar un lazo gigante, que representa el símbolo de la lucha contra el cáncer. En la confluencia del Pont del Petroli con el paseo marítimo y en el patio de la escuela habrá dos puntos fijos para hacer los donativos .  Pero a lo largo de la cercavila que harán con los gigantes y cabezudos de la escuela, también se podrán hacer aportaciones

Marina Badalona and Vidal Group have reached an agreement to promote the project to recover the ketch Ciutat Badalona in the central window of the Selecta Vidal shop in Carrer del Mar, coinciding with the holding of the short film festival Filmets, a time when the city is at the centre of metropolitan and international culture. The establishment is raffling a trip along the coast of Badalona – the discovery of our skyline – among its customers and those attending the Filmets festival galas. The winners will enjoy their prize on 2 December. To illustrate the promotion, various historic items from the boat, built in 1929 in Denmark, have been moved to the shop window.

On Friday 16 November, the Association of Friends of the Ketch Ciutat Badalona (AAqCB) had celebrated the graduation of the third group of volunteer crew for the ketch Ciutat Badalona. This coincides with the first anniversary of the scheduling of trips along the coast, which have been offered since the end of October 2011.  The event will include an explanation of the project to recover the ship and the showing of films of its most emblematic voyages. Membership cards will also be presented to new friends of the project.

Ketch Ciutat Badalona has activity this Sunday 14tu October as well, day in which there will be a day-trip scheduled to be open to the public for this season. This way, together with Associació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Bdalona, who brings the crew and cares about the maintenance of the craft, will develop a day-trip in order to see and recognize the seabirds of our littoral, explained by the naturalist Josep Torrents. The rest of the day-trips scheduled are on Sunday, 28th October, About Pirates! The incursions in our coast. Saturday, 24th November to discover Badalona from the sea and Sunday, 9th December 2012, About pirates too.  

The second heat of the Badamar Sport Fishing Club’s troll line competition was held on Sunday, 7 October, and the final classification was drawn up, adding the result to the figures for the fish caught in the first heat and obtaining totals for the two days. The session was completed on schedule. Boats and crews were registered at the Club headquarters at 7am, with competition beginning an hour later, and all boats had to be back by 1pm. As at all the Club’s events, the public weighing was held at 1.30pm in the marquee installed on Moll de Ribera, followed by the traditional aperitif. After the two heats were added together, the winning boat was Els Quatre, with a total of 14,110 kilograms of fish. In second place was Joangi, with 8,740 kilograms and third was Speed III, with 8,460 kilograms.  In accordance with the responsible fishing practice disseminated and implemented by the club, the following minimum catch sizes had to be taken into account: saddled seabream, 15 cm; mackerel, 18 cm; horse mackerel, 18 cm; amberjack 20 cm; bullet tuna, 25 cm; albacore, 30 cm; bonito, 30 cm; bluefish, 40 cm; common dolphinfish, 40 cm.  For species not explicitly mentioned on the list, the size is 18 cm.  The Club’s next competition will be on Sunday 21 October. On Sunday 30 September, Badalona Sailing Club held the first race of the 2012-2013 season in the cruiser league. In accordance with the normal schedule for these events, which are normally held once a fortnight, entries were registered at the Badalona Port Boating Activities Centre at 10am. An hour later the skippers’ meeting was held and competition began at 12.30pm. The boats return at about 3pm, and the crews can then chat about the race in an establishment at the port. Remember, Badalona Sailing Club has a crew exchange open for people interested in taking part in a race even though they do not have a boat. This season the Club’s social league consists of 18 races. The schedule for this season includes a Match Race competition and the Equinox Race in mid-March.

Once again, Marina de Badalona is taking part in the Barcelona International Boat Show, being held for the 51st time in new surroundings, entirely in Port Vell.  Marina will be waiting for you on the stand of the Catalan Marina Association at Palau P2, Carrer C, stand C577, offering its boating services, particularly the “dry” range (dry dock, overwintering and trailers) and moorings. You can also visit us in the Traditional Marina pavilion, with the Association of Friends of the Ketch Ciutat Badalona, where you can get information about the city’s classic boat and take part in a rope workshop.  You can ask for cut-price tickets at the Harbourmaster’s Office.

On Saturday 22 September, the associations "El Mamelló" from Pineda, "A Tot Drap" from Sant Pol and "Bricbarca" from Vilassar de Mar are organising the 1st Maresme Sail, with the ketch Ciutat Badalona also taking part. The day consists of meeting at 10am in Mataró port, from where they will go out sailing until 2pm and then share lunch at Bricbarca in Cabrera.  The guest boat for this friendship day among some of the associations that are recovering traditional sailing is the “Santa Espina”, which has already arrived in Mataró. She is a lateen-rig llagut from Banyuls sur Mer belonging to the family of sardinals (boats used for sardine and anchovy fishing).  The ketch will have to return to Badalona the same day, as on the 23rd it is due to make a birdwatching trip open to the public and the following day, which is the Mercè holiday, she is also scheduled to go to sea in the “Mercès per descubrir-nos” (Thank you for discovering us) campaign. As well as the trip on the ketch at 11am, a visit to the fish market is also scheduled.

A total of 35 boys and girls from Badalona, Barcelona, Premià, Mataró, Arenys and other coastal towns took part in a unique competition on Sunday 2 September organised by the Badamar Sports Fishing Club, in which all participants were aged under 16. This was the 1st Children’s Buoy Fishing Competition in Badalona port, which made the dream of family fishing in a spectacular environment came true. The day’s fishing, which lasted a total of 4 hours, ended with all participants having caught at least some fish, showing the great future open to some the children taking part. At the final weighing, Adrian Garrido won the competition with a total weight of 2.290 kg, followed by Eric Laoz (1.15 kg) and Ruben Moreno (1.120 kg), who completed the podium in third place. All the anglers had prizes (rods, reels, fishing materials...) thanks to the cooperation of collaborating businesses and shops. The day ended with a barbecue organised with the help of the Badalona volunteer group. The club season will continue in a fortnight, on Sunday 16 September, with the open razorfish competition, which will begin at 8am. Weighing will be at around 1pm, followed by an aperitif.

El domingo 2 de septiembre el Club de  Pesca Deportiva Badamar organiza el Concurso de Pesca a Boya 2012 dentro del Puerto de Badalona (en la dársena de Poniente, que recientemente ha acogido el Campeonato del Mundo de Vela X35) en una competición reglamentada por la Federació Catalana de Pesca. Un total de 40 deportistas (plazas limitadas), todos menores de 16 años, disfrutaran de las instalaciones y los espacios cedidos por Marina Badalona para iniciarse en este deporte. Antes de la competición, algunos de los miembros del CPE Badamar enseñaran como pescar a boya y ayudarán a los que se inicien en esta modalidad de pesca. A la vez que se desarrolla el concurso infantil también se celebrará el mismo concurso en categoría sénior exclusivamente para los socios del club. Una vez acabada la jornada de pesca se celebrará una botifarrada para todos los participantes gracias a la implicación de espónsores y colaboradores

No hay mejor modo de sentenciar un campeonato que ganando la última prueba, y así es como se ha despedido el Karma de Badalona, a pesar de que el frente tormentoso que está afectando a la costa catalana ha puesto las cosas difíciles a los 22 participantes y al Comité de Regatas en el último día del campeonato. Con mucha ola, propia del viento de Levante, y 12 nudos de intensidad comenzó puntualmente la séptima prueba del campeonato, aderezada con una pertinaz lluvia. Un viento que tras el primer de los cuatro tramos del recorrido ha ido amainando progresivamente, quedando un campo de regatas muy difícil debido al viento racheado de 6-8 nudos y una ola que seguía creciendo. La longitud del recorrido ha sido continuamente ajustada, adecuando la distancia de cada tramo a los altibajos del viento. El Karma comenzaba segundo en los dos primeros tramos, acosando al líder Audi Ultra, poniendo la directa en el tercer tramo donde tomaba el mando de la flota hasta completar el curto tramo y cruzar la meta. Un magnífico broche de oro a su impecable actuación, forjada a los largo de cuatro jornadas en las que nunca se han repetido las condiciones de viento y mar, pero tampoco de temperatura, sol o lluvia. Pero mientras el Karma quitaba emoción al desenlace de la victoria final, tras él las cosas han cambiado mucho. El Oxygen ha sabido reponerse a un fuera de línea en una mágica primera empopada, donde ha fraguado su remontada hasta el segundo puesto parcial del día, que combinado con el décimo puesto del Lelagain, le ha permitido subir al segundo escalón del podio final. También el italiano Margherita, que ayer era cuarto en la tabla provisional, hoy finalizado decimoquinto, y se ha visto superado por el alemán Niramo X-Treme que hoy sumaba un tercero a su casillero parcial. Por parte española, el Tuvvik ha bajado dos puestos en la clasificación general, finalizando en decimocuarta posición. El Desafino ha decidido retirarse voluntariamente por una infracción, bajando hasta el puesto decimoséptimo. Por su parte, el Fyord ha mantenido idéntico vigésimoprimero puesto en la tabla final. Badalona Sailing Club and Marina Badalona are organising the X-35 World Championship that will be held from 25 to 31 August. Granted to Badalona by the ISAF (International Sailing Federation) and the X-35 International Class, the regatta will bring together the best European crews in the battle for the top prize, where they will be joined by a representative from Japan. With entries still open, Badalona Sailing Club already has 24 applications to take part, including the current world champion, the Dane Morten Ulrikkehom, with the boat Oxygen, as well as the recent winner of the Audi Mapfre King’s Cup, the Italian Roberto Mazzucato with Margherita. Highlights of the regatta, which is a magnificent spectacle in itself, include the development of a village open to the general public every day from 10am and a parallel programme including a range of sea-related activities: visits to the fish market and auction in the mornings from 27 to 30 August; rowing open days on Saturday 25 and Tuesday 28 August in the afternoon, trips on the classic boat Ciutat Badalona from 27 to 30 August at three different times, and exhibition of catamarans, entertainment and concerts. Gerard Rodríguez and Alba Cerrillo, of the Club Natació Badalona and of the Cornellà Club, respectively, have wined the voyage to Badalona swimming that has departed from the wharf of Captaincy of the Port. It has been a complicated appointment, due to the height of the wave and the presence of banks of jellyfish, which have provoked the abandon of someone of 170 inscribed swimmers. The best time registered of the tour, obtained by Rodríguez, has been 32 minutes and 14 seconds.

El sábado 7 de  julio finalizó la temporada de regatas del Club de Vela Badalona, con la travesía y la cena final de temporada. A pesar de que en el momento de la salida el viento era casi inexistente, poco después de las 12h se dio la salida por un recorrido de 19,5. El viento se mantuvo muy justo, y hacia las 15.00 hores se decidió reducir el recorrido a la altura de la boya del Besós. Hacia las 16.00 horas apareció el sol con fuerza y con él un viento que subió de intensidad haciendo que las embarcaciones más lentas recuperaran mucho terreno a las rápidas que prácticamente no tuvieron viento en todo el recorrido. La embarcación Velaluka supo sacar provecho de esta circunstancia y se adjudicó el triunfo de la travesía del grupo AE, por delante de un sorprendente Juguesca 2, que acusó el hecho de competir en solitario en las numerosas maniobras de aproximación a la línea de llegada y del Bribonsete, que fue el primero en tiempo real. También en el grupo SE la lucha fue muy reñida y al final el Tatatoa después de una mala salida pudo recuperar y llevarse la victoria por tan sólo 9 segundos delante del Nereus. Con esta prueba finaliza una temporada que en el grupo AE ha estado marcada por 2 duelos que han mantenido la emoción hasta el último suspiro de la liga: El primero el duelo entre el Bribonsete y el Victòria ha sido absolutamente épico ya que después de los descartes no tan sólo han empatado a puntos, sino también en triunfos (5), segundos (7) y terceros (2). Finalmente Bribonsete se ha adjudicado el primer lugar en la liga gracias a la mejor clasificación en la última prueba. El segundo duelo ha sido entre el Velaluka y el Embolic y sólo al final se ha decantado con rotundidad a favor del Velaluka gracias a los triunfos conseguidos en las dos últimas pruebas de la temporada. En el grupo SE el Pepus IV ha sido el campeón, administrando con comodidad la gran ventaja conseguida en el primer trimestre. En segundo lugar se ha clasificado el Nereus, que gracias a su regularidad ha podido mantener la segunda posición ante un Trimaka que a pesar de ser el yate con mayor número de victorias ha sido menos regular en número de participaciones y de un Tatatoa que ha combinado resultados muy irregulares, pero que se ha despedido de la temporada con una nueva victoria en la prueba final. El mismo sábado 7 se celebró en un establecimiento del puerto la cena de cierre de la temporada y se entregaron los trofeos de los tres primeros clasificados de cada grupo de la liga y a los ganadores de cada grupo de la travesía

In Badalona, one of the nautical sports that is more practiced by the people of Badalona is the rowing. In order to bring it closer to those who would like to practice sports in an outdoors sports center, there is an open doors day on July 8^th, Sunday. All the people interested in registering have to send an e-mail to port@marinabadalona.cat and will receive an answer with the assignation of a “llagut” and a time.

Next Sunday July 8^th, there will be the first part of the Contest “Curri Costero”. This will be the first part and the final classification will be made with the sum of the score oif the two competitions (the second part will be made after summer). Also, there will be a price to the biggest piece, which will be the biggest piece of the 2 competitions. In the current contest, it is very important to take into account the minimum length of the captures: Oblada (15 cm), mackerel (18cm), Sorell (18 cm), Bisso (18 cm), Serviola (20 cm), Melva (25 cm), Bacoreta (30 cm), Tuna (30 cm), Lily (40 cm), Lampuga (40 cm). Those species not specified on this list will be 18 cm. The scheduling of the contest is as always: at 7am the registration of the boats and crew, at 8 am the depart of the boats, at 1 pm the boats will have to come back in the Port and at 1.30 pm there will be the weighing. This time, the location for fishing is free.

The Port offers on Friday, June 29^th, from 10 pm, a concert of “havaneres”, one of the activities scheduled in the program Live the summer of the present edition, and also as a beginning of the festivals of AAV Front Marítim, space in which there is the port facilities. The meeting is on the North Dock, the one that brings together the restaurants and bars, and the performance will be done by the local group Barcanova. In the break time, “ron cremat” will be offered to all the assistants.

The classic craft Ciutat Badalona participates this Saint Peter weekend in the 11th Meeting of Latin Sail in Mahon. This crossing from Badalona to Mahon is especially important for the consolidation and the recognition of the recuperation process of the boat because onboard the ketch there will be a team of the reports TV program Thalassa, that will record the crossing, life on board and all the vents happening in Menorca from Thursday 28^th in the afternoon, time in which the ketch is planned to arrive in the island, and until Saturday 30^th in the afternoon, when the ketch will depart from Menorca setting course to Badalona. The main character of the project of recuperation and formation of all the crew that allows this project to continue is Marcel Mongay and he is also one of the leitmotifs of the contents of the report that is being prepared.

Last Friday June 15th it took place in the Port of Badalona the 4th Edition of the Challenge Regatta, organized by the Club Natació Badalona with the collaboration of Marina Badalona. As every year, the Port of Badalona brought together some Secondary Schools of Badalona that had been preparing the activity during the year. The 7 institutes that participated are IES Badalona VII, IES La Llauna, Escola Betúlia, CES Joan Maragall, Col·legi Badalonès, IES Manel Vazquez Montalban and Col·legi Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció. The first 4 series against chronometer defined the places of challenge of the finals with 2 teams each. After those exciting finals, the results were as follows: A: 1st class A.E. Badalonès 3'03"03 - 2nd class. Ins. Badalona VII 3'05"64 Final B: 3rd class Ins. La Llauna 3'01"14 - 4th class. Ins. Joan Maragall 3'20"84 Final C: 5th class Mare de Déu L'Assumpció 3'19"03 - 6th class Col. Betúlia 3'29"71 Final D: 7th class Ins. Manuel Vazquez Montalban 3'47"09. Being the winner, then, Col·legi Badalonès. It was a good day for rowing in the Port of Badalona and we are sure all the participants are already waiting their opportunity next year for rowing in the Challenge Regatta.

Last Sunday, Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar celebrated its 3^rd Social Championship of Anchored Boat of the area known as “Garraf”, 3 miles away of the Badalona Coast. The boat “Lucky II” with 7,579 Kg (3,785 Kg.-2fishermen) was the winner of the championship, in the second position Joangi with 10,230Kg (3,410 Kg.-3 fishermen) and the fishermen of “Avi Pep”, third ones in the classification with 9,380 Kg (3,125 Kg.-3 fishermen). These results make that the general classification to be very close and the emotion until the end is bigger. All the captures of all the participants went to the Food Bank of the city with the collaboration, again, of the volunteers of Badalona. Furthermore, announce that the date for the championship: Mar-Costa “Memorial Gonzalo Rojas” will be on July 14^th. Before that, there will be the celebration of the first “Mànega del Curricà Coster” on July 8^th. As an innovation, the coming September 2^nd, there will be the celebration of the Championship, also official as the CORCHEO-MAR inside the Port of Badalona. The championship will be opened to all the members, but there will also be a championship for children (less than 16 years) in order to promote the fishing to the smallest.

This Sunday 10^th of June, there will be the 3^rd Social Championship of Anchored Boat. The place where the competition will be developed it will be the “Garraf” area, as a must condition. As usual, at 7 am the participants should be in the CPE Badamar headquarters in the Port of Badalona to register, and to be prepared to leave the Port. At 8 am the participants should be in Garraf area with the boat anchored, to start the competition, ending the competition at 12 pm and staying at the port at 1 pm to make the weighting. The total of the weight captured will be divided by the number of fishermen who form the team. We wish a lot of luck to all the participants.

On Friday, 1st June, Associació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona (AAqCB) invites everybody to celebrate the first year of navigation of this classic craft of the city. The meeting is at 7 pm at the Municipal Museum of Badalona, in an event in which there will be an explanation of the recovery project of the boat and there also will be different parts of films that have been filmed during the most emblematic crossings made during this strenuous year (with the participation in the maritime festival of the French city of Sète and the recent stay in the sea festival of Palamós). During the act there will also be the graduation of the second volunteer crew, integrated by the members who have been teach traditional navigation in order to be able to take part in the crews which make possible the boat to sail. Underline that this activity is an important point for the sustainability of the recuperation of this classic craft. Among the new objectives there are the visits to the schools and to participate in classic regattas and also to form the third volunteer crew, which is opened from today. The anniversary coincides with the scheduling of new trips for the summer, which you can look at the Ciutat Badalona site of the web of Marina Badalona. Also, remind that the new trips around the littoral scheduled are 9, 17 and 23 june, 7, 14, 15, 22 and 28 july and 15 and 19 august. Last Sunday, the Club de Pesca Deportiva Badamar celebrated the 2^nd Anchored Boat Social Competition in the Port of Badalona. The competition was developed with summer weather and the captures were abundant by all the crews. The boat “Joangi” was the first classified with 13,080 Kg. (4,360 – 3 fishermen), the second position for “Lucky II” with 8,040 Kg. (4,020 Kg. – 2 fishermen) and two sportsmen of the Speed II completed the podium with 14,090 Kg. (3,525 Kg. – 4 fishermen). The other fishermen helped as well in completing a moving day in memorial of the member of the Club and member of the Board of Directors deceased, Gonzalo Rojas. All the captures were given to the Bank Food of the city in collaboration once again with the Volunteers of Badalona. The next competition will be next June 10^th, with the 3^rd Anchored Boat Social Competition.

Next weekend 25-27 May it will take place in Palamós the sixth edition of the maritime festival “Palamós, Terra de Mar” this year with the submarine world as the thread of the festival and the traditional boats and maritime culture as the central theme. For this reason, the City Council of Palamos has invited in a special way the craft Ciutat Badalona, among other classic crafts like Santa Eulàlia in this festival that has become a meeting point of people, associations and related entities to the sea that bring their knowledge and activities in order to show to the rest of the citizens the wealth of natural and cultural heritage of our littoral. The volunteer crew of the ketch receives with great satisfaction this invitation to participate in Terra de mar, after the great experience lived in Sète, in the maritime tradition festival. The activities in which they will participate are, among others, the parade of the traditional and classic crafts and the Sea baptism in a traditional boat.

This weekend (19 and 20^th may) it has taken place the Worlds Championship of Motorboating Class B, categories Class Boat, Class S2, Class S1 and Class Pro in Badalona. Marina Badalona has ceded a space of the Port for the participant and auxiliary boats in order to make possible to do the event. In total, there have been 18 participant teams, among those, 8 from Italy and 10 from Spain (Cataluña, Andalucía, Galicia and Canarias). On the Pro and S1 categories, the most relevant, the Italian Maurizio Carando and the team from Canarias composed by Eugenio Falcón and Victor Rivero won again in their respective categories. The championship, organized by the Catalan Federation of Motorboating, consisted on three races, each one of 35-60 miles. The first one, scheduled for Saturday morning had to be canceled because of the bad conditions of the sea. The other 2 races, on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning were celebrated. Even though there wasn’t good weather, it can be said that the event has been successful in both, participation and assistance.

The weekend of May 18,19 and 20, it will take place the World Championship of Motorboating Endurance Class B, categories Class Boat, Class S2, Class S1 and Class Pro.  The championship, organized by the Motorboating Catalan Federation (MCF), will take place on the coast of the beach of Badalona. The circuit, indicated by buoys, will be situated in front of the city of Badalona, with a route between 35 and 60 nautical miles each beam. Marina Badalona and MCF have reached a collaboration agreement, for which Marina Badalona will cede a space located in the Port to MCF during the period in which will take place the event, in order for the participants and auxiliary boats to stay. The Motorboating Catalan Federation will be responsible of the security and surveillance of the area and the assembly of the infrastructures, as well as clear up everything. Also, they will be responsible to have all necessary authorizations and permission. All ready, so that the International Championship become successful. Last weekend it took place the XXVIII Spanish Championship OF Anchored Boat in Bahia de Algeciras. The competition, successful in both participation and captures, had two arms of three ours each (morning and afternoon) and left the Catalan team in the third position (bronze medal), after the Murcian and Balearic community. The Catalan success was completed with the second position in the individual category of Josep Maria Prat, current champion of Cataluña, who made again an exhibition only beaten by the Balearic Pep Alós. The sportsmen of Badalona, Quim Arqué and Josep M Lleida of the CPE Badamar made a good competition, doing firsts and seconds of boat in its respective arms, in a competition with more than 96 high level sportsmen. More than 750 Kg of fish were given to Caritas and the Food Bank as it is always done in official competitions. This Sunday, May 20^th, the competitions of Badalona come again with the second Social Competition of Anchored Boat. The place to do it is free but the boat will have to be completely anchored during the fishing action. The competition, starts, as always at 7 am and ends at 2 pm with an aperitif. The captures will be given again to the Food Bank.

This Sunday, May 13^th there will be the celebration of the 33^rd edition of the Devil Race, organized because of the May Festivals of Badalona. The devil race has three different routes: 1800m for the mini (until 10 years old), 4000m for the medium (from 11 to 14 years old) and the big one, 10000 m (from 15 years old). The three races begin and end in la Rambla de Badalona, and in total there has been more than 3000 registrations. The big race, which follows the red circuit, will pass through the port, where there will be a provisioning point for all the participants.

This weekend (11-13^th May) takes place the most important fishing competition at the national level with the celebration of the XXVIII Championship of Spain of Autonomic Selections of Anchored Boat in the Algeciras-Cádiz Bay. A total of 97 fishermen of high level, representing more than 12 autonomies of all the country, will put themselves to the test in an ideal environment to take abundant and big captures. The fishing club Badamar and the city of Badalona will be represented by the sportsmen Quim Arqué and Josep Antoni Lleida, which will be part of the Catalan Selection after the great performance in the Championship of Cataluña last month in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The first classifications will become High Competition Sportsmen and will go to the “Selective” in order to go to the Fishing Worlds of 2013.

This Saturday May 5th, there is a day-trip with the ketch focused on recognizing the most characteristic elements of Badalona: the skyline. For this month of May, which has just begun, and for the coming month of June there are day-trips opened to the public on the following days: May 12th and 20th and June 9th, 17th and 23rd. You can check out the topics and the space availability in this web. Also, on May 10th, Thursday, there is the opportunity to live the “cremada del dimoni” from the sea, onboard the ketch. At 8 pm there is the boarding in the Port of Badalona, trip, dinner aboard, fireworks and “cremada del dimoni”, it is planned to come back to the port at 11pm. The Unio Gimnàstica Esportiva Badalona's (UGE), with Marina Badalona's collaboration, between others, it has organized for the second time, with an important success of summons - 1.338 inscriptions go-, " The V de Badalona ", an athletic career with an innovative circuit in the city, the port enclosure for the categories middle and mini, and the Port and diverse streets of the waterfront for the circuit of the five kilometres. This career is consolidated from the demand of the groups of training that the UGE organizes two years ago to help athletic all the persons who wanted to prepare with a view to Badalona's popular career, the classic appointment of the holidays of May fixed, this year, for May 13. This edition incorporates three innovations to standing out. The first one, to give coverage to hundred inscriptions for persons in unemployment, to prevent that the fact of not being in assets prevents from taking part in the career. The second one, also adapted to the conjuncture of economic crisis, the call to bringing food in the moment to gather the dorsal one of the competition. Also it is possible to do this solidary gesture the same day of the career on the part of any interested person. In the port there will be a point of food withdrawal (a kilo of vegetables, conserves, milk, oil, pasta …), that will add to delivered in the moment to gather the dorsal ones and will give to the Food bank. Finally, in order that the familiar fact does not prevent from running either, one installs a service of day-care center during the whole morning, to a symbolic price of 2 Euros for child that does the activities at the expense of the Micaquer.

Even though the bad weather conditions in the sea and the strong wind, last Sunday the CPE Badamar celebrated the Free Anchored Boat Competition. Despite these inconvenient, and although the catches were not as abundant as the past competitions, more than 25 sportsmen participated in the event. The first position was for the boat Lucky III with 6,170Kg. (2 fishermen - 3,085Kg.), Joangi second classified with 5,530Kg. (2 fishermen -2,765Kg.) and Speed III third place with 7.950Kg. (3 fishermen - 2,2650Kg.). The weighting was done on the area of the Ribera Dock and all the catches (more than 25 Kg.) were given to the Food Bank of the city with the collaboration of the Volunteers of Badalona. The Club will repeat these charity actions in all the competitions until the end of the season in an agreement between the entity and the Department of Sports and Youth of the City Council of Badalona. The next appointment will be on the 20^th May with the second Social Competition of the Anchored Boat.

Ketch Ciutat Badalona has activity this Sunday as well, day in which there will be a day-trip scheduled to be open to the public for this season. This way, together with Associació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Bdalona, who brings the crew and cares about the maintenance of the craft, will develop a day-trip in order to see and recognize the seabirds of our littoral, explained by the naturalist Josep Torrents. The rest of the day-trips scheduled for the moment are on May 5^th, May 12^th, May 20^th, June 9^th, June 17^th and June 23^rd. On Sunday 22nd April, there will be the celebration of the 3rd Popular Ride of Badalona’s seafront, a social and sports event being consolidated and that was born three years ago, together with the opening of the new bridge Sant Lluc. The activity, in which collaborates Marina Badalona, is being organized by Associació de Veïns del Front Marítim de Badalona, Associació Esportiva Badalonès (AEB) and AMPA del Col.legi Badalonès. The appointment is at 11 am and the starting and ending point is at Plaça del Gas. The group will continue through the street Industria, until la Rambla, overcoming the train through Canyadós underground step and trough the Maritim Walk up to the Port of Badalona. Anyone who would like to join the race, can do it from 11.20 am, when it passes through the port. Up to this point, the race follows on the street Mar Negre to go through Sant Lluc bridge. Then, up to street Industria, direction the center of Badalona, passing through the new bridge, on the future canal until arriving again to Plaça del Gas, where the race will be finished with a little refreshment. It is said that the current edition will overpass the participants of last year’s race, with 700 people. There is no need of previous registration and the participation is for free.

Marina Badalona was present in the 1^st Estate Agency Fair of Badalona, together with different development companies, banks, estates agencies and restoration companies. The Fair, which had as objectives to revitalize the estate agency market of Badalona and also to release the current offer of housing promotions, has been very successful with near 10.000 visitors. The event, which lasted from Friday to Sunday, had been inaugurated by the Mayor of Badalona, Xavier García Albiol, who said that the wish of the City Council is to consolidate the celebration of this fair. In the stand of Marina Badalona two places for a day-trip aboard Quetx Ciutat Badalona were drawn. Up to 662 coupons were participating in the drawn, being the winner Mr. Salvador Franch, who is neighbor of Badalona. In the stand, there was also offered general information of the port, the moorings, the dry dock, etc. Not only this, but also, together with the company + Singular, they informed about the offer of the Ketch to do private events.

Thanks to an agreement between the Medieval Festival Association and Marina Badalona, ketch Ciutat Badalona will be present during the pirates disembark on April 14^th at the Fishermen Beach of Badalona. The boat will emulate the one that Catxidiable, the scariest corsair, used for his incursions on the Mediterranean coast. In our city, they arrived on June 13^th, Thursday, 1527 and 500 men disembarked on where we now know as Street of the Sea. This will be the main storyline for all the scheduled activities which will take place on the old part of the city, the neighborhood Dalt de la Vila, as well as in some medieval country houses of Badalona during the days 13, 14 and 15^th April. In this 12^th edition, there will be giant dances, activities for the children, medieval dances, juggles, street theatre and a medieval market, all organized by the City Council of Badalona and the Medieval Festival Association.

Marina Badalona will be present in the 1^st Estate Agency Fair that will take place on April 14^th and 15^th in the Rambla of Badalona, giving out information about its products and nautical services, focusing basically on the promotion of concession and rental of moorings and lockers and dry dock. A part from that, there will also be special spreading of the two international events scheduled for the next months of two nautical kinds of first level. It is the case of the World Championship of Motorboating of May 19^th and 20^th and the Badalona X-35 World Championship 2012 from August 25^th until August 31^st. There will also be information of the recuperation process of Ketch Ciutat Badalona for sailing, and will draw to places to participate in one of the two day-trips opened to the public, scheduled for this season.

Today, April 4^th, Wednesday, at 12h noon, Ketch Ciutat Badalona has departed from the Port to make the 30 hours crossing to get to Sète, where it will attend the maritime traditions festival. The 17 crew members of the boat, who are part of the volunteer crew of the ketch, will arrive, according to the predictions, tomorrow, Thursday at 6 pm more or less. In Sète, they will expose the ketch, symbol of the city of Badalona, among more than a thousand historical boats of different countries. Also, they will attend various conferences, concerts, and more activities, where they will be able to meet captains, sportsmen and sailors of all the origins. The festival, which takes place from April 6^th until April 9^th, celebrates this year the second edition, hosting Cataluña as the honor guest for its dynamism in preserving our maritime patrimony.

Escale à Sète, the festival of the maritime traditions, it will celebrated in the Habour known to be the first French fishing port of the Mediterranean, the Port of Sète, from April 6 to April 9. This appointment will assemble more than 100 historical crafts, dozens of concerts, lecturers, a great quantity of artists, sportsmen, captains and sailors of all the origins. The aims of this edition are to emphasize the heritage of the principal city of the region of the Llanguedoc and will allow getting together all the participants in an event which the maritime industry stands out. In addition it takes prominence the ambition of preserving an exceptional environment of the region, reducing the environmental impact, limiting the production of wastes, the pollution of the sea, the expense of energy, etc. This year, Catalonia is the invited of honor, since its dynamism stands out to preserve its maritime heritage. The crafts Santa Eulàlia and Ciutat Badalona will be present. The voluntary crew of the ketch will depart from the Port of Badalona to be present in this great appointment and to exhibit the ketch as symbol of the city.

From the approximately 9.000 species of birds that exist in the world, nearly 300 are considered to be marine birds. But, really what is a marine bird? Where does it live? Which groups of these birds are in Badalona? What do they do here? What relation do they establish with the people? These and other questions are aspects very related to the coastal cities such as ours. One of the important aspects to get to know them is to see them in their natural environment. A walk along the beach and along the port can bring us over to some marine birds, but some of them do not frequent the coast. This trip proposes you to look for them in their own environment aboard the ketch. After the sailing, you can have lunch in the restaurants of the port as we have established an offer: Ketch Ciutat Badalona Menu. The 35 sailing boats registered for the IV Crossing of the equinox went a length of 20 nautical miles of the coast, on the way out on Saturday and the return journey on Sunday. The regatta, which welcomes all kind of profiles, has besides the competition, a social aspect like the welcome breakfast, the dinner and the prize draw, as well as the farewell breakfast, where the crews can share their experience. The classifications of the way out  yacht race from Badalona to Arenys were: for group A (the fastest boats) Mister Swing, 29 seconds before than the arrival of Flyer Dos and 44 before Cometa a dos; for group B, El Glauc, Argus Dos and Embolic U; and finally for group C: Paranà II, As As and Plancton. The yacht race of Sunday, which had the start in a reverse format for compensated time and arrival in real time, had as the main protagonist the intensity changes of the wind, which complicated everything, most of all for the small sailing boats, in order to maintain the rhythm.  These circumstances made that in both places, Premià and Badalona, half of the participants had to retire. The boat Aixopluc III was the first one in reaching the Port of Premià, the next ones were Peconi and As As. In Badalona, the victory was for Flyer Dos, before Mister Swing and Embolic U.

As it has been done in the recent months, ketch Ciutat Badalona will sail along our coast on Saturday. The day-trips, opened to the public, are an opportunity for those who like sailing, as well as know more about the history of our city, the species which inhabit here, and other aspects. This Saturday, pirates board the ketch, explaining how they arrived to our city, on June 13^th, 1527. The day trip is called: About pirates! The incursions in our coast.  Due to the increasing demand of these day-trips, organized by Marina Badalona with the collaboration of Associació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona, and thanks to the volunteer crew, new day-trips will be available soon, for the forthcoming spring months of May and June. For the ones scheduled for April and May, which were available recently, there are no more places available. As a novelty, we have established an offer with the cafes and restaurants of the port, to be able to enjoy, if you want, a delicious meal or breakfast, before or after the trip.

This weekend, 17 and 18^th March, 2012, there is the 4^th edition of the CROSSING OF THE EQUINOX – BALSAMAR AWARD, organized by Badalona Sailing Club. Undoubtedly, the sponsorship of BALSAMAR and the other collaborators, among there is the Port of Badalona add additional appeal to this crossing, which has a unequivocal vocation to become a social massive regatta, accessible to anyone enthusiastic for sailing cruise. The participation in this edition is around 30 boats, coming from different ports, among which there is Badalona, El Masnou, Port Olímpic, Port Ginesta, Premià, Arenys and Balí. On Saturday, March 17^th, the first part of the regatta departs from Badalona, this way; the 30 boats will spend the night at the Port, which hands over for free the mooring for the boats which don’t use it as base port. After collecting the instructions in the Nautical Activities Center of the Port, and having breakfast in a restoration venue of the enclosure at 10 am, will proceed the meeting of the skippers and at 11.40 am there is forecast of departure. At 9 pm, already in the destination port –Port d’Arenys- there will be a dinner and awards ceremony for the first part of the competition, which is Badalona - Port Arenys. On Sunday there will be the return, at 10 am will depart the first boat, according to the arrival order- after applying the appropriate corrections- in every base port, only if there are more than two participants for each port. This is, in the case of Badalona, there will be a competition among the 17 boats that will come back to the city on Sunday.

Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar organized last Sunday the 1^st Competition of Anchored Boat 2012 qualifying for the Catalonia Championship of this discipline for next season. Although during the week, sea and wind conditions had been the main characters, during the competition, the sportsmen could enjoy a good time, despite the fact that there was little activity of fish in general. The fishermen Joaquim Arqué, Quim Arqué and Josep Antoni Lleida of the boat Joangi were the winners with a total weight of 13,450 kg. (4,450 for every sportsmen), the second place was for Lucky II with 5,870 kg. (2,935 kg. Isidoro Nicolás and Carmen Giménez), and in the third place the boat Avi Pep with 9,080 kg. (2,270 kg composed by Josep Agustí, Jose Cortés, Joan Agustí and Joan Sepúlveda. Next meeting will be on April 22^nd with the Free Anchored Boat Competition.

On Saturday, the 3rd of March it was disputed in Sant Feliu de Guíxols the Championship of Catalonia of Craft Anchored with the presence of 46 sportsmen of the whole Catalan territory. The level was very high with the participation of five sportsmen of high competition and of others with a lot of experience, but Badalona's city and the Club of Fishing Badamar were winning. Quim Arqué with 6,270 kilograms of fish managed to add seven points and to achieve medal of wrangle with the third position. Also Josep Antoni Lleida captured 5,710 kilograms adding 19 points and staying in the seventh position. They complete the podium the new champion of Catalonia, Josep M. Prat, with 8,100 kilograms and Alpaca Ortiz, with 7,840 kilograms, was seventh. This way so,  Quim Arqué and Josep Antoni Lleida have obtained a place to go with the Catalan Selection of Fishing to the Championship of Spain that will be celebrated from May 11 to May 13 in the Bay of Algeciras (Cadiz), competition that is the maxim of the condition in this modality.

Due to the increasing demand for the day-trips, as well as the satisfaction level showed by those who have already gone into the boat, Marina Badalona has scheduled four new day-trips along April and May with the following topics and dates: April 22^nd, Sunday, Seeing the seabirds of our littoral. The proposal for the Saturday 5^th, May is about Badalona from the sea. Our sky-line, and, at the moment, the third will be on Sunday 20^th, May: About pirates! The incursions in our coast. This last one is preferably for children. All these day-trips have a topic and a talk by a specialist about the topic while sailing. The registration is now open, and in the section of Ciutat Badalona you can find a brief explanation of each of the trips and the procedure which has to be followed to register on-line. You should hurry up, as the available places blow! Also, the ketch will participate in the 2012 Medieval Festival, with the pirate disembarkation that will take place on April 14^th.

Luís Recoder, councilor of Territory Politics of the Catalan government, together with the mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, has visited the port of Badalona to show interest for the extension of the government concession of the administration and operation of the port that is run by the company Marina Bdalona. The councilor has started the visit in the Captaincy offices, where he has known first-hand the aim of the project and its evolution looking at different images and additional documents. The exposition has ended talking about future projects, specially the construction of a hotel and a conventions center, which will be more attractive to investors if the operation years of the company are augmented. The day has concluded with a promenade along the Harbor Wall, from where a panoramic view is seen of the confluence of the seafront and the port enclosure and where the hotel may be built. The councilor has shared that the best way of getting to know the projects of the region is going there and also, that he has acquired a very good impression of the Port of Badalona, as he had never been there before.

Next Saturday, March 3^rd, three members of the sportive fishing club located in the Port of Badalona will participate in the Championship of Anchored Boat of Catalonia, which will take place in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The association Badamar has classified three sportive fishermen: Quim Arqué, Josep Antoni Lleida and Joaquim Arqué, in a national competition where the 40 best sportsmen of all the Catalan territory will compete. The eight best classified will be eligible to participate on the Spanish Championship, which will take place in Bahía de Algeciras-Cádiz, on the coming dates 12 and 13 of May, organized by the Spanish Fishing Federation.

Badalona welcomes this Sunday, March 4^th, the first edition of Maratest with more than 2.000 people registered. It is a 30 kilometers run which combines the concepts of competition and training. The race will take place along an urban circuit of 15 kilometers. This way, the participants will have to do two laps on the established route. The fact that the race is being held three weeks before the Marathon of Barcelona, it turns it into a suitable training for those athletes who would like to participate in the 41,195 km that will take place in the Catalan capital. The first way through the port is scheduled to be at 9.10 am. The runners will come from Sant LLuch Bridge and will continue direction Mataró. The second time that they will pass through the port it will be around 10 am. Different public transport services will also be affected, like B7, which offers service to the Port. Marina Badalona apologizes for the problems that the race can provoke and appreciates the citizen’s collaboration.

Each territory has its particular corsair, and Badalona suffered the sacking of Catxidiable. This is the topic of the next day-trip aboard ketch Ciutat Badaloma that will be done of February 25^th, Saturday. There also will be some explanations about the classic boat and how can we to traditional sailing, because to be a great pirate, we should be a great sailor man first. The configuration of the city, with the center near the sea and the later creation of Dalt de la Vila to protect the villagers from the pirate attacks, will be as well one of the topics to talk about in the trip. Last weekend, it took place in Estany de Banyoles, the 2^nd Catalan Rowing Event, organized by the Catalan Rowing Federation. The races of sliding seat or fixed seat like Mediterranean and catalan llaguts were done on Sunday. Among the participants of fixed seats there were: Rem Santa Cristina, Rem Pescadors, Rem Empuriabrava, Rem Palamós, Rem Arenys, Vent d’Estrop de Cambrils, Nàutic Bétulo, Natació Badalona, Nàutic Amposta and Rem Badalona. These clubs, who participated in the youth categories, veterans and seniors; male and females, did the races in the Olympic races area making the distances of 1500 m for youth and veterans and 2000 m for seniors. The Rowing Club Badalona, presented for the first time a female senior team. Once finished, it took place a lunch for all the rowers of both fixed and sliding seat, where there was the trophies ceremony for the best teams, clubs and trainers of the season 2011. For fixed seat, the Rowing Club Badalona was awarded for being the best male senior team, and as the best trainer: Juan Manuel Novo, for winning: the Ligue Championship and Catalonia of Batel, Catalan and Mediterranean Llagut and to have achieved the fourth place in the Spanish Championship. The other awards were given to the female senior rowing team of Empuriabrava and as the best club, the Yacht Club Flix.

The world champion of duathlon Roger Roca has won this Sunday the 1^st race Badalona Running – Memorial Luis Condon. Roca has run the 10 kilometers of the route across the most emblematic places of the city within 31 minutes and 14 seconds. The athlete from Igualada was one of the most popular and favorite to cross the finishing line. The second position has been for the triathlete from Badalona Jordi Garcia Gràcia, with 32 minutes, and Marc hurtado has been the third. In the feminine category Maria Bartolí has been the first one to cross the finishing line, with a time of 40 minutes and the second has been Maite Ríos. The race has counted with nearly 1300 registered runners, among which we could find professional sportsmen with a great sportive resume. There also has been the participation of musical groups of Badalona Cloverance, who did a performance in the Port of Badalona and Stunfox.

Getting to know the seabirds that we can find in our littoral is the objective of the day-trip programmed for this Sunday, February 19th aboard of the ketch Ciutat Badalona. This is the proposal of this week and the next, scheduled for next Saturday, February 25^th, is about the pirate incursions in our coasts.  For the fifth year in a row, of Remo Badalona's Club has returned to take part in the second ditch of traineras of the pre-season of the Basque Country, who organizes "Hondarribia Arraun". As the representatives of the Club explain, during one very cold evening, to zero degrees and cupping glass, approximately thirty fishing boats of the ACT (Hondarribia, Orio, San Pedro, Zierbana, San Juan, Shipyard and Pedreña), and of the ARC (Zumaia, Zarautz, Ondarroa, Santurtzi, Illumbe, Getaria and Colindres) they did 3 nautical miles (5.556 m). This year the crew of Remo Badalona's Club has been formed totally for members of the Club and the trainera property of the sports association has done the trip from the Port de Badalona to the Port d'Hondarribia. The meteorological conditions have done that the result was not waited for the Club or the strong wind impeded the boss to be able to dominate this craft of 12 meters. From Remo Badalona they share that the experience has turned to be fantastic, specially for the sportsmen who for the first time have lived a few days of oar in the Basque Country.

Last Sunday, February 12th, it took place the first test of the free competition of Club de Pesca Esportiva Badamar. This time, was about fishing the heaviest species of “pagell” that the boats participating could fish. The results of the competition were these: the boat Lucky II fished a piece of 8,860 kg, who won the trophy. The 4 fishermen of Speed III captured a “pagell” of 6,890 kg, leaving in the third place the boat Joangi with a fish of 2,930 kg. All of them, respecting the minimum length of 18 cm. Next meeting will be on March 11, Sunday with the competition of anchored boat.

Ricard Font, general manager of Transports and Mobility, has realized a visit to Badalona's port enclosure, accompanied by the councilman of Public Route and Mobility of the Town hall of Badalona, Daniel Gracia, and of the managing director of Marina de Badalona, Francesc Panella. The visit of the representative of the Autonomous government of Catalonia has centred on knowing first hand all the facilities, so that it has walked along the Wharf of West, where the Ciutat Badalona is tied, has visited the shipyard, the sea-coast dries and the subtraction of wharves and the mole. Before to the tour, there has been a meeting in the building of Captaincy, in which also there has taken part Ramon Riera, councilman of Estate of Badalona's Town hall, in which has been explained the origin of the project and his evolution, up to the current moment, in which there has to be executed part of the remodeling of the Gorg, the channel, the viaduct of the train and to be able only for developing the construction of the hotel and the center of conventions and other assets of the Port. In the meeting also the investments have been approached in mobility and the connections key to provide with more communication, and therefore, centrality, the project.

After Christmas Holidays, and after having started classes again, the Port of Badalona receives schools to visit the facilities and to learn about fisheries in the coast of our city. Visits are scheduled on Tuesdays. This week has come a class of the students of 3^rd grade of elementary school of Escola Jungfrau, and next week, this is on January 24th, Tuesday, will come the other class of the same school. Enric Cahner, director of the Escola del Mar, accompanies them during the visit and explains the fishing techniques, how does the fish market work, which species we can find in Badalona, etc.

For this season, the rowing section of the Club C.NBétulo has proposed to start a new category, the youth one, with boys and girls from 15 to 18 years old. Initially they arise with the idea of a mixed group, composed by approximately 14 boys and girls, who want to participate in the Catalan league of “Llagut” during the summer months, although training starts on February. They are looking for youth who would like to have fun while practicing a team, complete and outdoors sport twice a week. Last Sunday, January 15th, the fishing competition season of the Club de Pesca Deportiva Badamar started with the new Competition of Big Peace. The meeting, that had as objective fishing the biggest piece, crowned the boat Papillón, who fished a European Conger of 6,850 kg; the fishermen of Speed III were classified in the second place and the boat Joangi was the third one. The captures were given to a Food Bank of Badalona. The next meeting will be on February 12th, Sunday, with the competition of Common Pandora.

Since this week, we can already use the new laundry of the Port, situated in the same venue, totally renewed, of the local number 1 of the North Dock. New machines of big capacity have been installed (two washing machines of 13 kg and 8 kg respectively and a drier of 14 kg). The machines only work by introducing tabs, which can be bought at the Port Control Center (situated on the Dock of Ribera) or at the offices of Captaincy (situated on the Captaincy Dock). The cost of each tab is 4€. The facility is commanded by Port Control, and the team of sailors will advise you when using the machines if there is any doubt. In any case, the indications are properly specified in the enclosure of this service, located in the port but opened to the entire city. The opening time is from 7.00 am until 9.00 pm.

The ketch Ciutat Badalona brings on January 21st, Saturday, 2012, the first day trip of the five ones opened to the public that are programmed during this 1st term of the year. This day the proposition is concreted on the adventure of “Discovering Badalona from the sea. Our skyline”, by Pere Costa. Aboard of the classic boat, we can observe the city from the sea, paying attention to the most singular buildings and mountains. The tour will depart at 11.00 a.m. from Captaincy Dock and will come back approximately at 2.00 p.m. The next appointment will be on February. This way, on Sunday 19th, the tour will be about “Seeing marine birds of our littoral” by naturalist Josep Torrent. The third appointment of this present term, with the same schedule: “About pirates! The incursions in our coast”, which is about the misdeeds of the corsair Catxidiable in our littoral, scheduled for Febrary 25th, Saturday; and again in March 17th, Saturday too. The last one scheduled until now is on March 25th, Sunday, again with the topic of sea birds. The available spaces for each trip are limited, according to the indications of Maritime Captaincy, to 28 people. The registration can be done in our web site, in the section of Ciutat Badalona.

Marina Badalona has created a new system that makes easier and more convenient to enroll and pay the day-trips aboard Ciutat Badalona, everything on-line. The process is very easy.  December 23rd, the fisherman Pepe Costa from the fishing boat Ciudad de Badalona fished a shark of the species Alopias vulpinus, commonly known as Thresher. Its long tail measures nearly as much as its body and it shakes it from side to side to surround or hurt its preys. He can hunt alone or in group, and he normally eats schooling fish. The shark had been fished by net and dragged to the Port, where a crane had to be used to take it out of the water. Afterwards, it was taken to the fish market where it was sold. The shark weighted more than 300 kg and measured approximately 2 meters. It is the second time this lasts years that a shark is fished on the coast of Badalona. In April 2008, a shark from a different species but with larger dimensions was found as well.

Tuesday, December 13^th, a school visit to the Port of Badalona from the students of the 6th grade of the elementary school Llibertat took place. Similar to the other school visits, the pupils could visit the facilities and learn the function of a port as well as how it works. A part from this, they visited the fish market at the moment of the auction for the fish. The majority of the kids had not seen an auction before, so they were really impressed about it. Afterwards, they had time to talk for a while and ask some questions. Previously, Enric Canher, director from l’Escola del Mar, had done a introduction about the fishing techniques and the most common species that we can find in the sea of Badalona. Tuesday 20^th, another class of the 6th elementary grade of the same school will come to visit us in the Port. This one will be the last visit of this term before the school holidays for Christmas. At the beginning of the year there will be more educational visits.

Due to the collaboration of different entities and firms, the activities that took place in the Port of Badalona permit adding up to 1745,5€ in la Marató of TV3 of the current edition, number 20, which, even in the current situation of crisis there  has been a new record of fundraising which adds up more than 7 million euros. From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, when it took place the last musical show, there had been many musical and sports activities. We would like to highline the implication of Voluntaris Badalona, IKEA, Forn Bertran, la Confraría de Pescadors, la Escuela Municipal de Vela,  Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona, Club Joventut Badalona, Club de Rem Badalona, Club Natació Badalona, Club Nàutic Betulo, Supermercats Condis , l’AAVV Front Marítim and Castellers de Badalona among the local partners who collaborated in the event. Due to the great experience that it has been, the Port will offer again its facilities to gather the effort of the city for the next edition of la Marató.

All the captures made by the Club in the sea of Badalona during the season 2012 and after the agreement with the Alderman of Sports, Education and Youth of the City Council of Badalona, will be destined to charity through the different Food Banks available in the city. The compromise of the Club is specified in these difficult moments also as a measure to keep the city together and to help those who need it. By rough estimates from the data of past years, approximately 550kg of fish will be destined this next year 2012 to this worthy cause. The club will begin the season on January the 15th, and among the scheduled appointments there is the Championship of Catalunya of Anchored Craft by Federació Catalana de Pesca of the next march 3^rd 2012 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Badalona has classified three fishermen –Quim Arqué, Josep Antoni Lleida and Joaquim Arqué- in a championship where there will be the best 40 sportsmen of all the Catalan territory. The 8 first classified will access at the Championship of Spain that will take place in la Bahía de Algeciras- Cádiz the next 12 and 13 of May, organized by la Federación Española de Pesca.

On Sunday 18th, December, at 11.00 am there will be a day trip aboard the ketch Ciutat Badalona with the following topic: Observation and recognition of Marine Birds of our littoral. The speech will be carried out by the naturalist Josep Torrent. We will discover which seabirds we can find in our litoral, how they look like, which are their habits, and the relationship they establish with people, among other things. This is a trip that had to be done on the 17^th of November, but due to the weather conditions, it had to be cancelled. The trip, organized by Marina Badalona with the collaboration of l’Escola del Mar and the crew of Asociació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona has no space available already. The next trips for the next term will be on the 21^st of January, February 19^th and March 17^th, with different topics.

The next Saturday 17th of December, there is a scheduled day trip aboard the classic craft in order to discover the story of the leader corsair Catxidiable in 1527, related to the constitution of the city of Badalona. This trip is the last one of the five scheduled for this last term of 2011. There are no available places for this adventure, but from January of 2012, there will be more trips, the dates of which will be programmed soon. Marina Badalona has created a system to be able to register easily through our web page, in the section of Ciutat Badalona, where further information about the trips will be found, as well as the way to register. This option will be available forthcoming.

On Tuesday 29^th of November, the students of the 3^rd elementary grade of the School Mediterrània have visited the port. The visit has been held about the fisheries in Badalona, the techniques, the most common species, how does the fish market works and what is, and how can we fish in a responsible way, among other things. The students have also visited the other facilities of the Port, learning each of the parts that form it and their functions, as well as a visit to the fish market, watching a real auction for the fish. The school visits to the port, which are organized by Marina Badalona, with the collaboration of l’Escola del Mar, are a great opportunity for the kids and the youth of Badalona and the metropolitan area to learn about this reality.

On Sunday 27th of November, at 11.00 am, there will be a day trip available to everyone aboard the Ketch Ciutat Badalona to watch and recognize the seabirds of our coast line. The chat will be carried on by the naturalist Josep Torrent, who will explain, among other things, that from the approximately 9.000 bird species that exist in the world, nearly 300 are considered to be seabirds. We will learn which groups of these birds are found in Badalona, which are their characteristics and which is the better time of the year to observe them. Day trips are organized by Marina Badalona, along with the support of the Escola del Mar and thanks to the volunteer crew of the Associació d’Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona. All the available space is already reserved. The next day trip is scheduled on the 17th of December, and it is already full as well. At the beginning of December registration will be available for the next three day trips on January, February and March.

The meeting is at 9.30 pm in a restaurant of the Port, where there will be representatives of Badalona’s Council and Marina Badalona. It will be the moment to do the rating of the season 2011, and to hand in the prizes to the top three ranked of the four categories of the social contests. Due to the fact that the competitions have already been finished, the sports society, which has its headquarter in the Nautical Activities Center of the Port of Badalona, has provided the classification. This way, the first prize for the competition of anchored boat goes to Quim Arqué, who has been classified for Catalunya’s contest and will represent Badalona in this national meeting. The first prize for the free competition of the “common Pandora” goes for the boat called Speed III and the open of “llorito” has been won by the crew formed by Isidoro Nicolás, Carmen Giménez and Elisabet Pruna. The skipper of this crew, Isidoro Niolás has also been the absolute winner of the contest see-coast.

The boats Dimma, BWater, The Sea Dream Dos and Mont-Mar-Lai turned out to be the absolute winners of the four categories which integrate the Marina Badalona Trophy, the first part of the race Stil Nautic. Despite the fact that it was raining during all the weekend, the sport and leisure meeting got together twenty five boats of the municipalities of the central regions of Barcelona, specifically the sailing Clubs of Badalona, Mataró, Masnou, Premià, el Balis and the Olympic Port.The 18th edition of the race Stil Nautic, organized by the Sailing Club of Mataró and the Port of Mataró, with the collaboration of Marina Badalona and the Sailing Club of Badalona, is divided in two parts. The first one, corresponds to the Saturday 19th of November and departs at 12.00 pm from Mataró towards the Port of Badalona. It is the one which corresponds explicitly to the VII Trophy Marina Badalona.At the next day, Sunday 20th of November at 11.00 am the second part of the competition takes place, coming back to the Port of Mataró, scoring round within the global race of Stil Nautic.

About thirty boats in the municipalities of the central districts of Barcelona will participate on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of November in the 18th edition of the race Stil Nautic organized by the Sailing Club Mataró and the Port of Mataró, along with the collaboration of Marina Badalona and the sailing Club Badalona. It is divided in two parts. The first one, Saturday 19th of November, departs at 12 pm from Mataró to the Port of Badalona, that corresponds to the VII Trophy Marina Badalona. The trophies of this competition will be given in a fellowship dinner at Saturday night in a port establishment. On the next day, Sunday 20th of November, at 11.00 am departs the second part of the competition that consists on the return to the Port of Mataró.

On Friday, 11^th of November, at 5.30 pm, the venue of “Taverna” in the area of Traditional Marine of the Boat Show of Barcelona will host Marcel Mongay’s conference about the history and recovery process of the Ketch Ciutat Badalona. The boat, built in Denmark in 1929, had been acquired in 2006 by the society Ciutat Badalona. Since then, and specially from 2010, due to the constitution of the Association Amics del Quetx Ciutat Badalona , the remodeling process, the technical advice and the volunteer  crew training has been driven, such that since September 2011, all the permits to be able to sail again have been achieved.

Marina Badalona will be present in the 50^th edition of the Barcelona International Boat Event. On one hand, it exposes together with Asociación de Amigos del Quetch Ciutat Badalona and with the collaboration of the Escola del Mar, the recuperation process of the Ketch Ciutat Badalona in the area of Traditional Marine, and will also inform about the next two day-trips. These, will take place in la Gran Via, Hall 2, Street T, stand 11. On Friday 11^th of November, Marcel Mongay will give a talk about this classic boat.  During the weekend of the 5^th and 6^th of November, there will be some activities from the 2^nd Modernist Fair taking part in the Port. Because of that, there will be a train on both Saturday and Sunday to communicate the Plana Square, the central venue of the event, with the Port to make the displacement easier. In the Port there will be the donkey’s caravan, poetry activities and the opportunity to become a time character. Also, there will be day trips with the Ketch Ciutat Badalona, with the collaboration of the Asociación de Amigos del quetch Ciutat Badalona, and there will be the opportunity to make a modernist mural, thanks to the Instituto Gaudí de la Construcción. On Sunday afternoon, there will be a classic car exhibition that will arrive to the Port, where they will be exposed until the event finishes. The Fair also offers, among other things, guided tours to the Anís del Mono.

On October 8  celebrated the graduation of the Ciutat Badalona crew members' first promotion of the quech and was the moment in which the captain of the craft, Marcel Mongay, announced the summons of the formation to have the second promotion. To this first equipment of 24 partners there corresponds to him the responsibility of giving continuity to the calendar of activities of the quech and of extending the equipment of crew members making the formation of the one that will be the second promotion. Both Marina de Badalona and the Associació d'Amics of the Quetx Ciutat Badalona entrust that the second summons also are a success. Any person interested in forming a part has to give the first step associating to the entity to join this group. The summons for the formation will be done every Thursday and every Saturday morning. From 10.30 hours, and up to 14.00 hours, they were beginning the activities in the walk of the Rambla in front of the School of the Mar, and also, for the first time activities were beginning in the port: visits to the Ciutat Badalona, baptisms of sailing, a sample of subaquatic activities and of crafts and fishing tackles. On Saturday, the 14th of May, 2011, in School of the Sea, Centre Badalona's 'Estudis Marins, at 12 p.m. the exhibition " 1911. To survive the Tempest ", that commemorates the centenary of the temporary one who, on January 31, 1911, punished the coasts of the Països Catalans and provoked the death of many fishermen for the whole littoral. With this itinerant exhibition realized by Cambrils's Museu d'Història, are explained the meteorological circumstances that provoked the tempest and across the quiet testimonies and of them notify of file and of press, re-follows the path that continued from the Maresme up to Alacant, with a balance sheet of more than 80 dead men in Catalonia (of between them 11 of Badalona) and more than 50 in the País Valencià. The schedule of visit is from Monday until Friday of 10:00 to 14:00h and every Thursday also of 16:30h to 19:00h (entered the Santa Madrona). On Saturdays, Sundays and festive, of 11:00h to 14:00h (entered Rambla, 37).

Since in the previous edition, this sports and playful appointment placed in the Festes de Maig will happen for the Port. Concretely, the tour that from Sant Lluc's Bridge will fall sick towards the Rambla will be that of the red category, the big career of 10.000 meters. In this occasion, Marcel Mongay, greater pattern of the Marine Tramp, captain of yacht and teacher of nautical, will explain the history of the craft, his path until it was purchased by part of Marine Badalona and the creation of the Association of Friends of the Quetch City Badalona and which use wants him give to the ship in order to approach the sea, the traditional navigation and the sailor culture to the city.

 The craft ACROBAT of the RCN of Pollensa's Port has been the absolute winner of the version North of the Route of the Salt - Trophy Pepe Ferres of the edition 2011, which went out on Thursday, the 21st of April of Port Ginesta. The Azuree,  for Marina Badalona and the Municipal School of Sailing Badalona, has been the second one of this ditch of height. The Dutch Jay Walker of Port Ginesta, the third square of the general is awarded. The winning craft crossed the line of arrival to them 02:28:20h of Friday, the 22nd of April, investing in 140 miles of competition 17h, 28m and 20 s. The ditch authorized by the autonomous federations Balearic, Catalan and Valencian, takes place of Thursday, the 21st from April (exit at 12.00 hours) to Sunday, the 24th of April, during the Holy Week 2011. It has two versions, North, which goes out of Port Ginesta with tour Barcelona for Portmay's Sant Antoni, in Ibiza, with an approximate distance of 140 nautical miles. And the version Est, from Denia (exit is at 14.00 hours) up to the same point of arrival, leaving the islands of Formentera, Tagomago and Ibiza for port, with an approximate distance of 120 nautical miles (Denia - C.Berberia - Peseta. Rotja - Tagomago - Peseta. Muscarté - C.Nonó - Pormany's Sant Antoni).The route has historical origin. In May, 1846, because of the blockade imposed in Barcelona by the armies Carlists during " The Revolta dels Mariners ", there took place a shortage of salt that it put in danger to the count city. An acquaintance Barcelonian businessman had the original idea of summoning the most famous navigators of the moment and the challenge presented them: he would pay the services of transporting salt of the Salt mines Pitiüses to The Garraf (Barcelona) but depending on the order of arrival. The first ones in coming would charge in gold, but the last ones probably they might not even pay the wages of the sailors. Thirteen crafts appeared to the challenge.The first one in coming was the " Maltese Falcon ", a schooner of Baltimore of 32m of length to the Greek Andreas Potrus, followed by the facial scar "Jerba" and by the "Arrogant" brig. From 1992 till now, the number of participants has been increasing, constituting a real sociological phenomenon between the fans of our country: of 136 crafts of 1992, the number has continued growing: 158 in 1994, 174 in 1995, 188 in 1996, 222 in 1997, 226 in 1998, 284 in 1999, up to reaching the record number of more than 300 in the year 2000, number that since then repeats itself every year.The Route of the Salt mobiliza every year more than 2000 regatistas and a many-colored fleet of crafts furrows the Mediterranean one to commemorate the voyages of last century in search of the White Gold: the salt of the life! The Route of the Salt is the ditch of height with major participation that is celebrated in the Mediterranean and the most important thing is that one has managed to support the captivation of the first day. It is not an easy ditch. The voyages are long and the date in which it is realized is a meteorologically complicated epoch of the year. This gives him the captivation of the adventure and the inducement of which the fact of qualifying is already of for yes a victory.

Edward and Claire Allcards, the marriage of British origin whom Marina Badalona bought the quetch Ciutat Badalona the year 2004, have visited Badalona's Port to be interested for the works of rehabilitation of this classic craft. The Associació de Veïns of the Front Marítim of Badalona, the Asssociació Esportiva Badalonés (AEB) and the AMPA of the Col.legi Badalonès have organized the Pedalada Popular II of Badalona's Front Marítim next April 10 from 11 a.m.. The point of item is the Plaza of the Gas, and continues for the street of the Industry, up to Badalona's Ravine, overcoming the train for Canyadó's underground step and taking the Maritime Walk up to Badalona's Port, and coming to Eduard Maristany up to the chimneys, and lining up the street Mar Negre to enter to Sant Lluc's new bridge. Later take the street Indústria direction to Badalona's center, happening for the new bridge on the future channel up to coming to the square of the Gas, where it will finish the act with a small refreshment. There is waited a minimal assistance of 700 persons between participants and organization.

More than 800 persons distributed in three categories, took part in the first career " Badalona's Els V " organized for the Unió  Gimnàstica Esportiva in Badalona's Port. It is a question of an athletic popular career in an innovative circuit in the City that it had very good response, since the environment that one lived in the Port from in the morning up to past good the midday was many participation. The UGE is concentrated in the preparation of the career of May 15, which also will happen for the port enclosure and the maritime range, and later already it is thinking of repeating this previous career, which might have a circuit des of the CC Màgit to the Port.

Marcel Mongay, Major Boss of Cabotage and president of the Advice Adviser of Marina Badalona, will explain on Saturday, the 26th of March, 2011 the process of recovery of the quetch Ciutat Badalona in an act organized by the Associació d'Amarristes Marina Badalona.
